I’m getting a kitten.&lt;br/&gt;
A kitten.&lt;br/&gt;
A BABY CAT.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;My whole life I’ve wanted a kitten and my parents always said no. When we finally got Clark ~9 years ago, he was already 6 months old.&lt;br/&gt;
Tut is currently 2 months. He can’t come home with us yet, because he’s not fixed, but he’ll be fixed the first day the vets come to the shelter after he weighs three pounds.&lt;br/&gt;
And he’ll be living in my room, because it’s the smallest one, one of three rooms in the house with a door, and far less cluttered than my parents room. He’ll be exclusively in my room for awhile until he gets used to it. Which means my room will always be his safe place. Which means I will be his favorite and he will cuddle with me forever.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;i didn&amp;#8217;t have any issues with the texture or the taste or anything. i think it was just something in the ingredients that really upset my stomach, because i usually never take anything when i run. next year, though, i think i&amp;#8217;m going to fill my little pouch with skittles or twirler nibs or something like that. i know i can handle those in general because i&amp;#8217;ve eaten them before, and they should be alright when i run since they&amp;#8217;re basically just straight sugar. but i really should start trying things out during training runs.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;brendan got here at 4:29 and we headed out after i loaded all my crap in the car. we parked on the north shore and waited for the t for 15 minutes before we realized t service wouldn&amp;#8217;t start for another half hour. he was hungry, so we walked across the river, wandered around, and eventually found a 7-11 that WASN&amp;#8217;T closed or blocked off by all the barricades.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;he ate, i finished my bottle of water, and we headed over towards my start corral, which i entered by market square, which is actually where he wanted to wait for me, anyway, so yay! we hung out for a bit, tried to figure out where he should wait and where he should meet me, and eventually it was 6:35. corral c closed off at 6:45, so he gave me a kiss and i headed into my corral. i was near a couple people who wanted to go sub-2 (!!!!!!!!!!!), whereas my goal was 2:15. so, clearly, i was not actually placed in the right corral. but i went with it. we had the moment of &amp;#8220;silence,&amp;#8221; which is apparently actually impossible for the idiots i was surrounded by. there was the national anthem, the failed attempt at the macarena (everybody was too loud to hear we were supposed to be doing it), they sang god bless america, and we were off. it took me about 7 minutes to cross the starting line, and we ran past ryan clark.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i started off super strong! i felt great. i walked through all the water stops and drank gatorade at every other one and water at every one. i also walked for about a minute at five miles. my first two miles were under 9:00 and i actually finished my 5k in about 28, so that was GREAT! i hit the 10k mark at 1:01:19 with a 9:52 pace and my eta was 2:09:21, which was almost six faster than my goal final pace. so, y&amp;#8217;know, awesome!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;the climb up the west end bridge was pretty rough. i started battling with myself at about 7 miles. i wanted to just walk at 5 miles and 10 miles, plus all the water breaks. i ended up walking at 8.28. it was just really tough for me. i was getting really tired and just drained. i started doubting myself and it was just not good. i walked again at like 9 miles. i think around 9.5 miles, they offered gu. i never had it before, but i was pretty drained and hoped that it would help, so i took a strawberry banana one. it tasted alright, but it really didn&amp;#8217;t do anything for me. i was still dragging.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;as i crossed the smithfield street bridge, there were people offering twizzlers, so i took one. i think the chewing actually helped take my mind off of the running, and i sped up a lot for a little. i crossed the 11.3 mile mark at 2:00:34, which had slowed me down to a 10:40 mile. 30 seconds off my 2:15 goal. so, that wasn&amp;#8217;t going to happen. 10:30 miles was still possible, so that was my new goal.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i started struggling again on the uphill. plus, my ankle was hurting. i tried to roll it out to stretch it a bit, and it helped, but i was still hurting. greg, a guy in a lot of my fitness minor classes, caught up with me and ran with me for a couple minutes before breaking off and running ahead. i never saw him again. at the top of the hill, i saw a girl on one of those gator carts, passed out. (later, when i heard about the person who died around 11.5-12 miles, i was told it was a girl and thought that was the girl. so.) i kept running and walking and drinking my water. so glad i brought my fuel belt.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i was definitely hit by the struggle train for the last part of this race. i walked on a downhill. i repeat,&lt;span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span&gt;&lt;em&gt;i walked on a downhill&lt;/em&gt;&lt;/span&gt;.&lt;/strong&gt; i was struggling so hard. about the 13 mile mark, i was walking when i got a text from brendan that said &amp;#8220;I see you!&amp;#8221; so i picked it up. i ran. it wasn&amp;#8217;t fast. it hurt. but i finished in 2:21:47. it wasn&amp;#8217;t 2:15. it wasn&amp;#8217;t 2:20. but it was over 6 minutes faster than last year. my final pace was 10:45 and last year was 11:10. so, improvement. next year, i&amp;#8217;ll get that 2:15. next year, i&amp;#8217;ll train better.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i went through the chute and picked up a bunch of stuff. got my medal (skipped the pictures), got a wrap thing, a cup, a bagel, water, fruit cups, chips, a banana. after a couple minutes, i found brendan and we started heading back. we stopped in point state park so i could sit down and stretch. i ate my bagel and a nugo bar that i brought as we walked, and he drove home.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;we accidentally got on the highland park bridge because brendan got in the wrong lane and couldn&amp;#8217;t get back over, so we decided to go to the coxcomb hill sheetz and get some good food in my belly. i didn&amp;#8217;t feel well at all and i was shaking. i ordered a wrap at the mto, got a cup of strawberries, gave brendan all my stuff, and went outside to sit down at the table and put my head down. he came out and i slowly ate my strawberries. i ate half the cup by the time he finished his sandwich and we kept heading home.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i felt a little better at first, but as we got into new ken, i would keep coughing because i just ran 13 miles, but then i started to gag with the last cough. he asked if he should pull over and i said i would be okay, just get me home. as soon as we got to my house, i opened the door and started coughing again. and then i gagged. and then i could feel vomit coming up my throat. i threw up almost all of my strawberries in three goes. i was okay for a little bit, but then he started helping me to the grass in case i needed to go again, and i threw up the rest of the strawberries, the bagel, the nugo bar, and the gu halfway there. i made it to the grass and sat down and was feeling a lot better. i was actually hungry, but he tossed the last of the strawberries into the grass already. bummer.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;we went inside, he brought all of the perishables, and my dad went out to clean up the vomit piles and the vomit on my shoes. we went back out and he went home to build a rubber-guarded lifting platform so he can do crossfit-y things. i ate my wrap and got some ginger ale and generally felt a ton better.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i showered- there was no massive bleeding holes from chafing this year!!!!- and got ready to go to grammie&amp;#8217;s for dinner. i ate a ton. it was great. we hid and found 46 easter eggs and played with the youngins.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i went to work for a couple hours and hung out with some great people. it was rough because i was already getting sore and clicking everywhere.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;i went to bed at 11:30 and slept until 9:30. it was solid. i didn&amp;#8217;t dream. i didn&amp;#8217;t wake up. i was OUT.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;and now i&amp;#8217;m sore. and hungry.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;moral of this story: DON&amp;#8217;T TRY GU FOR THE FIRST TIME DURING A RACE. YOU WILL VOMIT. also, eat no more than 2 hours before running or you will feel dead.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;spent some quality time with brendan and his kitty who was seriously all over us when i was giving brendan a bj and we were having sex later which was super awkward but i mean whatever. cats, man.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;pirates got creamed. ugh. oh well. there&amp;#8217;s always tomorrow!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;did some headstand stuff while brendan showered/i was watching next american ninja or whatever it&amp;#8217;s called. i was near his couch so when i went too far i wouldn&amp;#8217;t land on the ground and freak myself the fuck out. just landed on the couch instead!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;exercise-wise, eh. i did a lot of walking at work. i helped unload the truck, so i was moving boxes for around two hours. sex totally counts as a workout, plus the headstands!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;eating-wise, did good! i had a few little treats: two mint bliss candies with lunch, a bite of brendan&amp;#8217;s cookie, and a cup of diet cherry 7up. but other than that, it was GREAT! i had 147 grams of protein, which is about where i need to be at to be building muscle, so yay! ate a total of 1704 calories, which is maybe a tit bit low, but i was honestly really full most of the day. when we were at giant eagle to get him some chips, i was trying to find something good that wouldn&amp;#8217;t be a treat, because if i got fritos, i would have eaten the whole damn bag. so i got a can of cashew pieces instead!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;so, good day.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;tomorrow&amp;#8217;s lunch is going to be these very vanilla protein pancakes with some honey, blueberries, and carrots! for snack i&amp;#8217;m going to take one of my protein shake things i picked up at trader joe&amp;#8217;s on friday. my other snack will be a couple cheese sticks!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;no idea what dinner is, but breakfast will be probably eggs and fruit. maybe some toast.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;li&gt;meanwhile, THREE PIRATES, including TWO COACHES got ejected.&lt;/li&gt;
